South Central Indiana REMC Energy Efficiency Programs

If you are a member of the South Central Indiana REMC, be sure to check out these energy efficiency programs:

• Appliance Recycling - call an "800" number to have your old freezer or refrigerator picked up and recycled. The REMC will mail you a check for $30.
• - sign up for this voluntary program, "Beat the Peak". The REMC alerts you of a peak period and you do what you can to delay the use of major appliances in your home during this period of time. Alerts are sent by email, text message, or by phone up to 24 hours in advance.
• Energy Audit Program - contact the REMC office to schedule an in-home energy audit to identify places in the home where energy is being wasted and to give you ways to make improvements.
• Load Management Program - contact the REMC to install a demand response unit to cycle off your electric water heater and your air-conditioner during peak demand periods and receive a $25 bill credit for each device we control.
• Loan Program - borrow up to $10,000 to finance the purchase of a new heating & cooling system, insulation upgrade, replacement windows, solar water heating system, etc.
• Rebate Programs - if you are planning to replace your heating system with a new air-source or geothermal system, add or replace a central air conditioner, or adding or replacing an electric water heater, be sure to check out our special discounts or rebates offered to SCI REMC members.
